About the Center
The Centre for Good Governance and Policy Analysis at Islamic University of science & Technology (IUST) has been established in 2025. The centre is envisioned as a premier interdisciplinary policy research and capacity-building institution dedicated to strengthening governance systems, improving service delivery, and promoting sustainable management of natural resources in Jammu & Kashmir. The Centre endeavours to explore best practices focused on citizen centric service delivery models; develop technological solutions by leveraging expertise in AI/ML, Cyber security, Geospatial Technologies, sustainable architecture, Disaster Risk Reduction etc. That can support real time decision making resource optimization in times of crises such as: Epidemic breakouts, disasters viz. droughts, floods, avalanches, fires etc. Besides, The Centre focuses on bridging the gap between research, Innovation and actual governance structures through integration of efforts/ expertise for co-creation of solutions. The Centre aims to engage the stakeholders in public as well as private sector and nurture youth for future leadership roles.
Besides, the Centre has instituted Good Governance Fellowships for government functionaries who can either on their own or on the projects/problems identified by the centre conduct research and come up with the localized but smart solutions based on scientific data.
